BACKGROUND: As part of the efforts to improve water quality in Gore Creek, the town has installed native plantings along the stream bank each of the last five years. Approximately 15,000 native trees, shrubs and forbs have been installed to provide habitat and shade, to reduce erosion and to disrupt pollution pathways to the creek. The proposed work in 2021 will install an additional 3,000 plants as well as improved drip irrigation to increase the success rates along some project sections.
