Background:

Town Council and Vail Recreation District occasionally meet to review operations, programming and topics of mutual interest. VRD elected officials and their staff will join the meeting for the discussion of proposed business topics. The discussion items for next Tuesday’s joint meeting with the Vail Recreation District are below:

Background: On January 16, 2020, Vail Mayor Dave Chapin announced that the Town of Vail had approached representatives from Vail Resorts and Triumph Development with the objective of exploring an alternate approach to the Booth Heights development approved for East Vail.  The purpose of this agenda item is to provide an update on the progress made during the previous six months.
Staff Recommendation: As this agenda item is for information only, there is no staff recommendation at this time. 
3.Interviews for Boards and Commissions
3.1.Vail Local Housing Authority Interviews20 min.

Action Requested of Council: Conduct interviews
Background: There is one vacancy to fill on the Vail Local Housing Authority.  The term is five years ending May 31, 2025.  The role of Authority members is to act as Board of Directors for the business of the Vail Local Housing Authority.  The duties may include budget approval, policy recommendations, advocacy, strategic and long-term planning, and making recommendations for development and acquisition parameters.
3.2.Vail Local Licensing (Liquor) Authority Interviews10 min.

Action Requested of Council: Conduct interviews
Background: There are two vacancies on the Vail Local Licensing (Liquor) Authority.  The term is two-years ending May 31, 2022.  Duties of the five-member board include a review and licensing of locations within the Town to sell alcoholic liquors and fermented malt beverages in accordance with said Colorado Statutes, and for the local administration of the Colorado Liquor, Beer Code, Special Events Permits and the Colorado Liquor Rules.
